Corporate Social Media - Intermec Reviewed

Monitoring the huge trend in corporate social media, executives around the world are testing new ways of sharing information and trying to discard some old school stumbling blocks. Many corporate decision makers are left looking at advanced spreadsheets and blindly take shot after shot in the dark (hoping they hit the mythical beast "the prospect" in the process.)
As our team at 123 is often moving around and speaking to these decision makers, we occasionally like to flex our brains a little and examine a company online.

I wrote an article today on my main site blog about business social media,
specifically how professionals can write for social media with blogs. It includes some touch points from Darren Rowse from Problogger and Dustin M Wax.
Professional Social Media Training

I wrote an article today on my main site blog about social media training, specifically how professionals can learn to think outsite the box and strategically learn from a network of experts. I wanted to share it with everyone here, and hope you get the point I am trying to convey.
Comment on Node ant

My name is Barry Hurd. I am the President of 123SocialMedia.com, a niche promotion crew that focuses on business uses of social media by educating decision makers on both 30,000 ft strategic views and tactical information on specific issues.

Every week we try to throw out a good "tidbit" item or tool. This week it was CrazyEgg.com, a very useful analytical system that creates a heat map of any site that can be sorted by keyword, destination, time on page, etc.

Assembling a social media guide, what are the most frequent questions you have regarding social media?

My team is working on a on guide to answer the top 20 commonly asked
questions regarding social media, along with some more niche focus
guides. I would love to get some input from the community and any good
links to similar resources.

Examples:

Do you find that professionals are more likely to ask about blogging or more specific sites like Linkedin?

What is RSS?

What is Twitter?

How do I track ROI for social media?

etc, etc.

Any ideas and commentary welcome.

I just wrote a like-minded article about the Wall Street Journal's most influential business thinkers... and I really had to question what qualifies someone. Oddly enough, Michael Arrington was not on the Top 100 list because the WSJ used bad math (IMHO)

I wonder why the threads here seem to be so quiet? The structure vs content of the FastCompany area here appears to be an obstacle to moving around content.

The media event sounds interesting though, the social media ecosystem is evolving at an amazing rate into millions of different niches. The next twelve months will be a roller coaster of change.
