Three things:
1. Love & totally agree with the quote about the fear levels created - to no productive end - by the "threat warning" levels.
2. Re fire exits. As we went to and from vacation last week, I took the chance to train my kids to look forward and back for the exits. They're already old enough to know that they have to keep their tray-tables up, fasten seatbelts, etc., but I want them thinking practically about what to do in a fix.
I believe it's a good Idea to not only share or exchange successfull ideas for the betterment of Student Education. I certainly would search out a similar video from say,... Asia, or Europe and compare. - Student Education and Finance
Some perfectionists, sometimes known as egotists, spin for days without any real success, but useless pride insist upon a staid course. My uncle used to tell us whenever he thougth we were off course, "you might be moving, but in the wrong direction." Perfectionists sometimes waste energy needlessly in the wrong direction. A sense of insecurity or incapabality can also be a drainer in the wrong direction, yielding no fruitful results. The two percent to me (I may be wrong) is both a forging ahead and ongoing observation.
Has anybody considered re-distributing their hardcopy of the book via one of the free/swap methods? For example, leaving it at a BookCrossing drop point? That certainly seems like a way to spread the WOM! - BzzAgent 100indecisions
We too don't quite get it - but it does sound good! ;) - Brick Marketing
How fitting. The Romans traded republic for empire, freedom for comfort and eventually collapsed. Much as the US is doing...
Did the post about globalization mention that ancient Rome poured out all its gold to buy these trinkets, and eventually devauled its currency, much like we're doing with China?
Why are people in our allegded 'republic' 'democracies' so quick to compare themselves with a decadent empire?
Paul,
I understand your realism. However, I would point out that 'orgs' do not have opinions, PEOPLE do, and we CAN have an impact and influence people. I've never had any success having a conversation with an org and if you're trying...... ;o)
I love the quote
Another thing occurs to me. if Jung is right and perception is projection; and if you have a 'constant rant'; the solution to your rant may not be with them but with you.
From someone who had a very similar constant rant until someone posed the same question....
Absolutely Steve - you mean like a 'WE' conversation of course - Trevor Gay
"Grand Strategy may be of significant importance to an earthshaking success, but the likes of skill in the salon and a great smile often as not are the key ingredients of that "last 98%," persuasion and implementation."
LOVE IT!
The beauty to me here is that we expect entertainers to be able to woo others through the power of their personality. We do not necessarily expect the same of world leaders. They are, after all, world leaders.
This book is now on my wish list. I genuinely appreciate the importance of looking at our decision making and the practical effects the way that something is presented to us has on how we respond. In the interview, the discussion of the 'no child left untested' initiative in the US fits very well into my own experiences as an educator and working with educators.
