I couldn't afford to travel this summer anyway, with the already high-ticket prices and fuel surcharges. Now I don't know when I'll travel again.

Probably. If it is too much of a hassle, how is it a vacation?

No, I will simply pack my own snacks and pack less clothes. I always tend to overpack anyway.

Well, let's just say that it's not going to help. But sometimes, a man's gotta fly.

Moreso the pricing will deter me for anything frivolous.

Non-frivolous: much needed beach time in Hawaii, trade shows, clients, manufacturers etc. meetings.

Frivolous: anything else.

No, I live in Philadelphia and will probably take Amtrak to visit a few different cities this summer/fall. I prefer not to fly anyway so the extra restrictions simply guide my decisions of which places to visit towards places that are served by rail.

No. I'd rather deal with it and reward myself with a few days of relaxation.

Not in the least. I haven't flown since 1986 and I LOVE it.

It will definitely affect families traveling with kids. They are on the short end of the stick here. Business travelers already travel lean with a notebook and carry on baggage, while staying "Clear" at airports. If not already signed up for the Clear Registered Traveler program, hordes are joining in, thanks to Marriott Rewards.

Marriott recently announced they would give one-year free membership to all Marriott Rewards members who sign up for the Clear Registered Traveler program. That is $128 dollars up for grabs for every Marriott Rewards member.

I will make every attempt to convince customers to teleconference. When I travel on business I generally need to check tools necessary to my work, and don't like exposing my confidential NDA'd user data to governmental theft.

Between fuel and the security charade there may be no US based airlines left soon.

I love the airline business. I was formerly in datacomm R&D for TWA.
