Not. Who asks for $700 billion blank check from Congress and expects it to be easy? Not only is the bill flawed, but Paulson has only been Treasury Secretary for less than 2 years. It would be difficult to have confidence in even the most experience and trusted leader with $700 billion, but how are we expected to have any trust in Paulson with such a short history? George Soros commented at the Financial Times that "the bill submitted to Congress even had language in it that would exempt the secretary’s decisions from review by any court or administrative agency – the ultimate fulfillment of the Bush administration’s dream of a unitary executive." Clearly hot. Look we're in crisis mode right now and this is the time when ideas and solutions are at a premium. While most don't like the bailout plan I think it's the best solution to such a problem.
The guy isn't sitting on his hands. He is putting all the cards on the table and telling us like it is and the truth to what's needed to get the economy back on track. Totally respect the guy.
Not. Just not. Right on, Rachel!
I guess the plan is to continue pumping M3 bucks out the back door.
(You've all heard the definition of "insanity". Let's try something SUPER radical and go back to the gold standard!)
Come on David, this was brought on by Clinton (Andrew Cuomo and Janet Reno) ignored by Congress (of course many of them made some serious coin from this mess) and now Bush wants you and I to pay for it and not hold these other clowns accountable. If we are going to point fingers, use your middle one and point at all involved. Sorry just tired of people wanting to hold one politcal figure responsible, who is just a fraction of the problem, instead of everyone involved and those who really had the ability from keeping this from happening to begin with and who could have changed it when all the alarms and signs of warning have been going off about this the last 10 years.
