Q: By dropping its price to become the cheapest gaming console on the market, can Microsoft reclaim the spotlight from Nintendo and Sony? | posted by Fast Company staff
Nope. This is a bit of an unfair question too, since it implies that Microsoft is in last place in the console war (which it isn't). Microsoft plays second fiddle to Nintendo, but it is squarely ahead of Sony in sales of both game and consoles. Recently, though, Sony has closed the gap, but Microsoft is still ahead. It's gonna be tough to overtake Nintendo, since its variety of gaming platforms have a pan-generational appeal that neither Sony nor Microsoft can reasonably tackle.
