It really depends on the company and its leaders. I think even big companies can stay creative if they are careful with their structures. -- Kevin H. Ohannessian Associate Editor, FastCompany.com

Smaller companies lend to more creativity. The larger the company, the less employees feel empowered to be creative.

It certainly is harder to be innovative with larger organizations. Sure it will vary from company to company. I always found better communication with the smaller companies and this communication lead to more creativity and quicker implementation

I would have to echo Kevin and add, innovation is in every company and to the same degree; what happens in larger companies employees are afraid to come forward as they don't want to embarass their immediate supervisor. Corporations have to look at making small communities within the structure to foster growth and make it easy for employees to move about

Within a larger organization it takes more of an effort to make sure that guidelines and structures are created to support and drive innovation. Innovation is happening with in all organizations large and small but in both cases only the surface is being scratched - there is a need to focus on how to make innovation happen - not just on recognizing it when it occurs.
