Are there any companies on our list that don't belong? Do you have any alternatives in mind?
Sorry. Last comment submitted a bit early. Overall, the list is very US-centric and there doesn't seem to be any priority given to the size of the market the innovation is attacking which it should.
Here is my $.02.
1. Zopa should replace Prosper. Both are doing great things in P2P lending which will be big but Zopa's approach is more sophisticated.
2. How does Tata which has created a $2500 car rank behind BMW and Toyota for innovation? Tata has just opened car ownership up to millions of potential people in Asia, Africa, South America, etc who never would have thought of having a car. They're creating a brand new market and not just doing incremental improvements to existing models. That is real innovation.
3. Current TV - Al Gore is behind it. We get it. It's cool. But is this really one of the top 50? Hardly.
4. Burton, iRobot, Annomaly ahead of Microsoft? I know they're not liked (I know Apple and Google are cooler), but has one company been strong in so many different arenas - desktop software, database, video games, etc. Mr Softee deserved a bit more credit.
